Science & Wisdom LIVE, a project of Jamyang London Buddhist Centre, has announced the launch of a new e-learning program, Buddhism & Quantum Physics. This online course is focused on the intersection between Buddhist philosophy and science as a means to analyze the mind and investigate the nature of reality and the self.
“Every human being is searching for meaning in this complex universe,” Science & Wisdom LIVE said in an announcement shared with BDG. “Buddhism & Quantum Physics . . . offers a key to unlocking some of the mysteries of reality, while simultaneously expanding consciousness, building community, and cultivating wisdom. Those who are curious about the intricate nature of reality, quantum phenomena, and human consciousness are encouraged to join this interactive online course for an unforgettable learning journey.”
The course is aimed at helping students to develop a deeper understanding of the interconnections between science and spirituality by investigating the nature of reality, the mind, and the self. Outcomes include helping practitioners to deepen and enrich their meditation practice, enhancing mindfulness and well-being.
“Buddhism & Quantum Physics is led by Prof. Carlo Rovelli, Geshe Tenzin Namdak, Prof. Michel Bitbol, and Prof. John Dunne—all esteemed experts in their respective scientific and contemplative fields,” Science & Wisdom LIVE explained. “These teachers will guide students step-by-step through a comprehensive syllabus that includes video lectures, dialogues, articles, Buddhist texts, lecture notes, self-assessment tools, and meditation practices.”
Buddhism & Quantum Physics is open to all prospective students; no previous knowledge of Buddhism or quantum physics is needed. The course guides the student through a wide range of profound principles, theories, and practical applications, spread across six modules: A Beginner’s Guide to Quantum Mechanics; Metaphysics, Buddhism, and Quantum Physics; Reality and the Nature of Mind; From Nagarjuna to Heisenberg, and Back; Mind, Matter, and Quantum Physics; and How Things Exist – Meditation Workshop.
“Buddhism & Quantum Physics was designed to be accessible to everyone,” Science & Wisdom LIVE noted. “The syllabus is very engaging, understandable (without jargon or overly technical terms), and applicable to daily life, videos are subtitled, and transcripts are provided. Furthermore, participants can complete this course at their own pace, with one year of full, unlimited online access. This way students can truly enjoy the learning experience, without the pressure of deadlines.”
“Science & Wisdom LIVE brings meditation practitioners in conversation with scientists to address the problems of contemporary society and come to new possible solutions,” said Science & Wisdom LIVE. “The dialogue between science and contemplative traditions can inspire positive action and inform an ethical response to the challenges of our times, grounded in the human values of cooperation, compassion and equality.” (Science & Wisdom Live)
