The Tergar Meditation Community, founded by the revered meditation teacher and master of the Karma Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, has announced a special online event aimed at helping young adults to navigate our fast-paced and uncertain world with greater clarity, balance, and meaning. “Thrive Daily: Meditation for Work, Life, and Purpose,”
“On 14 June, we’ll gather for Thrive Daily, a unique event . . . [that] brings together Mingyur Rinpoche and three inspiring guest speakers to explore resilience, meaning, and awareness through literature, leadership, and contemplative practice,” Tergar shared with BDG.
Thrive Daily: Meditation for Work, Life, and Purpose includes a live teaching with Mingyur Rinpoche, panel discussions with guest speakers, guided meditations led by Mingyur Rinpoche, reflection exercises to connect learning with personal goals, and a Q&A with Mingyur Rinpoche and guest speakers.

“Featuring world-renowned meditation teacher Mingyur Rinpoche and MacArthur “Genius Grant” recipient and bestselling author Ocean Vuong, international Extinction Rebellion strategist and resilience expert Ronan Harrington, and corporate mindfulness pioneer Uvinie Lubecki, this event offers practical wisdom for young change-makers seeking balance, purpose, and emotional resilience,” Tergar noted.
The webinar will include lessons in: using mindfulness to navigate stress, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm; using awareness to make better decisions and remain grounded under pressure; aligning goals and actions with personal values for a fulfilling and purposeful life; and simple techniques to integrate mindfulness into daily life for greater clarity and focus.
“Through engaging panel discussions, interactive exercises, and real-life insights, you’ll learn how meditation and awareness can be your superpowers for managing stress, making better decisions, and building a meaningful life,” Tergar emphasized. “Whether you are a student, a young professional, or someone striving for clarity in today’s fast-paced world, this event provides the tools and inspiration to thrive daily.”

Mingyur Rinpoche, the founder of the Tergar Meditation Community, which has centers and practice groups across the world, is a renowned teacher and best-selling author whose books include: The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret & Science of Happiness (2007); Joyful Wisdom: Embracing Change and Finding Freedom (2009); and Turning Confusion into Clarity: A Guide to the Foundation Practices of Tibetan Buddhism (2014).
Born in 1975 in the Himalayan border region between Tibet and Nepal, Mingyur Rinpoche received extensive training in Tibetan Buddhist meditative and philosophical traditions from his father, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche (1920–96), considered one of the greatest modern Dzogchen masters, and subsequently at Sherab Ling Monastery in northern India. After just two years, at the age of 13, Mingyur Rinpoche entered a three-year meditation retreat and then completed a second immediately afterward, serving as retreat master. At 23, Rinpoche received full monastic ordination.
Mingyur Rinpoche famously undertook a four-year solitary wandering retreat through the Himalaya in 2011–15. In recounting how he came to terms with the realities of his ambition to practice in the manner of a wandering yogi, Rinpoche revealed that he confronted many personal and spiritual challenges—including, at one point, his own mortality. Rinpoche has described the years he spent wandering in the Himalaya as “one of the best periods of my life.”*
Instead of rejecting the problems and emotions, or surrendering to them, we can befriend them, working through them to reach an enduring, authentic experience of our inherent wisdom, confidence, clarity, and joy. — Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche
