“Beginning 18 July, the Ashokan Meditation Center will offer a new series of free, online Buddhist meditation classes called ‘Meditation Evenings at Ashokan Meditation Center,’ the center said in a statement shared with BDG. “Open to all—whether you’re completely new to meditation or already have a practice—the sessions are designed to support peace of mind, insight, and well-being.”
Led by Theravada Buddhist monk Ajahn Wade Bhuripanyo, the classes will be conducted weekly over Zoom every Friday from 6:30–8 p.m. local time, and at the following times:

Ajahn Wade Bhuripanyo was ordained in Thailand in 2014. He brings 30 years of experience in Buddhist practice and meditation to the classes. He also shares teachings on YouTube.
“Meditation has many scientifically proven benefits,” Ajahn Wade remarked. “We believe that everyone can use meditation to make their lives better and even attain Awakening.”
The new series, “Meditation Evenings at Ashokan Meditation Center,” builds on the success of “Meditation Afternoons at Ashokan Meditation Center,” which is live-streamed on Zoom every Sunday from 1–4 p.m.
Both the Friday evening and Sunday afternoon meditation classes are offered free of charge and are open to everyone—no prior meditation experience or familiarity with Buddhism is needed.
A co-founder of the Ashokan Meditation Center, Somsak Bhitiyakul, MD, noted: “[Meditation] can be very helpful for improving one’s memory and also for dealing with burnout.”
