His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday evening to a rapturous welcome in the city’s Buddhist enclave of Boudha.
More than 500 monastics from around the world gathered at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre to consecrate a 14-meter statue of the Buddha.
A ceremony of consecration for the Buddhist monastery Tubten Shedrub Ling was held in Kyzyl, the the capital of the Republic of Tuva, on 28 April. The 12-floor monastery, intended to serve as Tuva’s principal Buddhist temple, stands 56 meters high.
