The revered Korean Dharma master and socially engaged Buddhist activist Venerable Pomnyun Sunim (법륜스님) will this year give an international series of in-person Dharma talks titled simply “Casual Conversation with Ven. Pomnyun Sunim.” Sunim’s itinerary will run from 29 April–20 September, with 13 Dharma talks currently scheduled in five countries—Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, and the United States.

“In-person Casual Conversations with Ven. Pomnyun Sunim in 2024 are now open for registration,” Jungto Society told BDG “The events will be held in New York, Boston, Dallas, Washington, DC, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Sydney, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Los Angeles from 29 April to 20 September. The events are free and open to all. Secure your seat to discover the path to happiness and freedom.”

Ven. Pomnyun Sunim has earned acclaim in South Korea and internationally for his unique and accessible style of Dharma instruction, which follows an informal Q+A format in which participants are invited to raise any issues that concern them. The Dharma talks are structured with the aim of helping people to realize their own inner contradictions or ignorance by providing them with the tools and understanding to alleviate their own suffering, in the tradition of the historical Buddha.

“Ven. Pomnyun Sunim has been engaged in dialogue with the public for decades, sharing the Dharma with people from various religious and cultural backgrounds,” Jungto Society remarked. “His unique approach to tackling life’s challenges, grounded in the original teachings of the Buddha, offers clear and easily accessible insights. Through his guidance, many have found immediate peace of mind and the confidence to face life’s challenges without despair or stress.”
